LIFEGUARD CERTIFICATION

Village lifeguards are highly trained and take a qualifying exam along with annual CPR and First Aid courses.

The Village administers an in-house lifeguard certification course and test that have been approved by the New York State and Suffolk County Departments of Health. The test is offered in June and August in East Hampton. Applicants must be 16 years of age or older.

Daily Non-Resident 2023 Beach Parking Permits for Main Beach Lot 2 and Two Mile Hollow Beach will only be available for purchase online for $50/day May 15 through September 15, on the ParkMobile App from your phone.   You may pay for your spot only after you have secured a parking space (no prepayments and no refunds). These are digital permits only and are linked to your license plate number. Parking will be enforced by a license plate scanner.

Per Chapter 77-14B (4) of Village Code, Lot 1 parking at Main Beach is available for Lot 1 Pass Holders who rent lockers (available via waitlist at Village Hall). Village Resident permitted vehicles may park in Lot 1 after 1:00 p.m. Lot 2 parking is available for all Resident and Non-Resident permitted vehicles.

Always swim near a Lifeguard! Lifeguards are on duty from 10:00am to 5:00pm on days protected beaches are open. There are three (3) lifeguard protected beaches in East Hampton Village:

  1. Main Beach
  2. Georgica Beach
  3. Two Mile Hollow Beach

    • Green Flag – Calm Conditions
    • Yellow Flag – Use Caution
    • Red Flag – Dangerous

The Daily Long Term Parking Lot is located off of Lumber Lane on Google Maps, the lot just West of Herrick Park. This lot is known as Daily Long Term Parking Lot 2. You may park for free for up to 23 hours. Additionally, the Hamptons Circuit is a free shuttle service that can transport you from this lot to the East Hampton Village Center and Main Beach (seasonal). Long Term Parking

  • Lumber Lane Daily Parking Lot 2 (closest to Herrick Park) Free to everyone for 23 hours only. No overnight parking.
  • Lumber Lane Long Term Lot (closest to YMCA) on the Park Mobile App Zone 59203. Free to Village Residents with Resident Permit for up to 14 days. Non-residents will be charged $10/day for up to 14 days.
  • Along Railroad Tracks on the Park Mobile app Zone 59201. Free to Village Residents with Resident Permit for up to 7 days. Non-residents will be charged $15/day for up to 7 days. You must secure a parking space to purchase (no prepayment/no refunds. Do not pay in advance.)
  • North side of Lumber Lane on the Park Mobile app Zone 59202. Free to Village Residents with Resident Permit for up to 7 days. Non-residents will be charged $15/day for up to 7 days. You must secure a parking space to purchase (no prepayment/no refunds. Do not pay in advance.)

There are fifteen (15) minute parking spaces available at the head of the beach in which no permit is required.

A Town of East Hampton Beach Driving Permit (4×4) is required to drive on the beach (regardless of if the beach is within East Hampton Village or East Hampton Town). This permit can only be obtained at the East Hampton Town Clerks Office. Please call the Town Clerk’s office at 631-324-4142 or www.ehamptonny.gov for information.

No vehicles are permitted on Village beaches between 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. from May 15th through September 15th. It is the responsibility of the driver to know all restrictions governing beach driving. The Village actively patrols beaches and strictly enforces regulations.

Per Chapter 77-4N (1) and (2) – No person shall ride, walk or otherwise allow or permit a dog, cat or other animal to be on or upon any beach from May 15 to September 15 of each year, between the hours of 9am and 6pm. At all other times during the period from May 15 to September 15 of each year, dogs must be manually restrained on a leash within areas that are within 300 feet of any road end along the Atlantic Ocean beaches. Any individual who permits a dog upon any beach shall maintain control over said dog at all times and shall take such action as may be necessary to clean up after such animal.
