About Us
The Department of Emergency Medical Service (EMS) is an official branch or the Inc. Village of East Hampton. Our membership is made up of trained volunteer members and paid personnel. We are proud to offer a range of services, including basic and advanced life support, transportation, and local community outreach programs.
Mission
To provide timely, high-quality, and compassionate emergency medical service to the community we serve. We presently operate three (3) New York State Certified Advanced Life Support Ambulances, one ALS First Responder Unit and one BLS First Responder Unit. Additionally, we operate a Mass Casualty Trailer for large-scale emergencies.
Join Our Team!
We are looking for Ambulance Drivers, EMTs and AEMTs
- You do not need to be EMT or AEMT certified to be an Ambulance Driver.
- Ambulance Drivers are required to take a class that covers key defensive driving concepts and techniques including hands-on training emergency and non-emergency driving environments. These classes are free for volunteers.
- Q: What's the difference between an EMT and an AEMT?
- A: AEMT is considered the highest level of EMT certification. AEMTs provide all care that an EMT is qualified to do in addition to advanced emergency medical care, such as starting an IV line, performing dual-lumen airway insertion, and administering certain medications.
