Jason Tuma

Jason Tuma’s ties to Montauk and the East End span generations—his family has lived in East Hampton since the late 1600s. Born and raised in Montauk, Jason graduated from East Hampton High School. He spent his early years on the water, working in the family business, Tuma’s Dock and Tackle Shop, and serving as a lifeguard for the Town of East Hampton.

After attending the University of Louisiana, Jason built a successful 20-year career in the South, holding leadership positions as General Manager for Jillian’s Entertainment – a nationwide restaurant and entertainment chain holding company, Operations Manager for ESPN Zone, and Franchise Area Director for Al Copeland Investments. In the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina in 2005, Jason returned to New Orleans to join the rebuilding effort, working for a builder and developer on affordable housing projects across the greater New Orleans area.

In 2011, Jason met his wife, and the couple returned to make East Hampton Village their permanent home in 2013. He currently serves as Project Manager for Pape Construction and is a Lieutenant with the East Hampton Volunteer Ocean Rescue’s Squad, continuing his lifelong commitment to water safety and community service. Today, Jason resides in East Hampton Village with his wife and young son, where he enjoys spending time at the local beaches and staying connected to the community that shaped him.
