Billy Hajek

Billy Hajek serves as the Planner to the Village of East Hampton. He actively engages with Village residents, applicants’ representatives and the appointed boards on projects that require special permits, variances, wetland permits, subdivision review, site plan review, or historic review.

He reviews applications for consistency with the Village Code and adopted design guidelines. He provides recommendations, in the form of written reports, to the Zoning Board of Appeals, the Planning Board and Design Review Board. He additionally ensures projects are consistent with the State Environmental Quality Review (SEQR) Act.

He assists in creating new zoning regulations and amendments to the Village Code and offers support on a variety of long-range projects. Some of the current projects include the preparation of a Wireless Master Plan, a Hydrological Analysis of Town Pond, and the establishment of a sewer system to service the Village’s Commercial Districts.

Billy has been the Village Planner since 2015 and has over 25 years of planning-related experience on the East End working for local not-for-profit organizations, nearby municipalities (including the Town of East Hampton and Village of North Haven), and as a private planning consultant.
